Welcome to Geek
Speak Comics, your one stop needed for all things dorky and fun. While
we’re just getting started, more fun and exciting things are definitely
on the way.
First of all, all of us at Geek Speak Comics are dedicated to doing things
our way. Everything on this site reflects our personalities in one way
or another. There is no corporate-head dictating what we put online. If
it’s on here, we want it to be.
With that said, we are proud to offer the various properties we’ve
got lined up.
Starting with the one that started it all… “Comic
Shop Blues”! “The Blues” started as a comic strip
by Nick Miller to tell all the funny, wacky and
downright crude stories he had from his time working at a local comic
book shop. If you’ve ever stepped inside a shop, you will be able
to relate to something about this strip. If you’ve never stepped
foot in a shop, you’ll see what you’ve been missing. It’s
always good for a laugh!
Then we move on to “Hoosierville”…. Laura
Koelling grew up near a small town named Wamac that had a collective
IQ of near 50. It is through this strip that she plans to showcase many
of the white-trash and brain-dead activities she witnessed in this apparently
inbred town. This strip is not for the easily offended, but if you’ve
ever laughed at that toothless guy who’s trying to buy a pack of
gum to cover up the anti-freeze on his breath, this is the strip for you.
We’ve got another project that is still in planning stages that
will be our first actual comic book. While we can’t tell you too
much about it right now, if you like giant robots, you NEED to check this
out later on this year.
Finally, we here at Geek Speak have been working with a friend and comrade-in-arms
from north of the border in chilly Canada on a comic book that will blow
away all previous conceptions of the “super hero”. While this
book is also in planning stages as well, expect Mike
McDermott to be making big strides on it soon.
Besides our top quality comics and strips, Geek Speak Comics also features
columns written by founders Mitch Bogart and Nick
Miller. “Life’s a Mitch” is a
weekly column that will touch on all things nerdy. Be it comics, video
games, movies, girls, life in general or even professional wrestling no
topic is sacred when “Life’s a Mitch.” Over in “Nick
of Time”, Nick will discuss whatever he wants. While the column
will mainly focus on comics, it will also deviate into whatever he feels
is important to discuss. In both cases, the opinions expressed definitely
do reflect those of the group and we do not apologize for them at all.
It’s a free country to say what we want… and if you don’t
like it, we’ve got some land in Iran to sell you!
We’ve worked on developing a store that features all kinds of cool
Geek Speak Comics swag. Check it
out.
Finally, if you have any suggestions, comments, or complaints.. send them
to Nick or Mitch through the “Contact us” link. We’d
be glad to tell you what we think of your thoughts… |
